Updated: 3 best places to eat in Waterloo

You could say that we (Chris and Kelly-Innkeepers of The Weis Mansion Bed and Breakfast) are foodies. We love trying new foods and supporting small restaurants. Avoiding chain restaurants is something we take pride in. Another great feature is that these restaurants are within a couple block radius of the mansion so you can walk! Here are our 3 favorite local food places in no particular order:

Basil Pizza basilpizza.com: This pizzeria makes Detroit style wood fire pizzas. They are huge and delicious. Check out their wall of door and the vintage signs on the wall.

Big Head Burger https://getbigheadburger.com/  : They make awesome smashburgers that are huge. While you are there, make sure to get the Big Head fries and try a milk shake if they are in season.

Since El Barco has closed their location right next door, we had to find a new favorite. Drumroll.....

Newtons Paradise Cafe https://www.newtonscafe.com/: Last week we had lunch here and it was delicious and large portions. For an appetizer we shared the Crab Rangoon Nachos. SOOO good. Then we shared a burger. Plenty of food for two people and the price was on par with other local restaurants.
